JYSK details 21/22 expansion plans

JYSK will open or refurbish 10 UK branches in the coming year.

Its 24th and 25th UK stores will open before the end of this year, with a further eight openings or refurbishments planned by the end of August 2022.

‘As the UK continues to emerge from the restrictions caused by the pandemic, we are seeing increasing confidence from customers to come and shop back in store once again,’ says Roni Tuominen, JYSY UK country manager.

‘It’s the perfect time for us to push forward with full throttle on our plans for expansion within the UK market. Alongside introducing JYSK to some exciting new locations in the UK, we’re investing significantly in upgrading several more of our stores to our latest store concept 3.0, bringing a fresh new look and enhanced customer experience to our shoppers.’

The latest store format has seen sales increase by as much as 20% and the group plans to convert all of its stores in 51 countries to the format by the end of 2024 at the rate of about 1,000 a year. Across Europe it plans to open 200 more stores in the next 12 months.
