MDF Italia returned to Salone with a new sofa, Goom, by Jean Marie Massaud, and chair, Archie, by the Yabu Pushelberg studio alongside several updates.
Inspired by the geometric shape of an arch, Archie features slender, elegant legs that extend upwards to embrace the curved backrest in a single, seamless line.
The visible joints between the structure’s planes balance visual lightness, structural integrity, and comfort. ‘Archie makes a sculptural statement, where the back and arm merge into a single, fluid form,’ says George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg.
Originally conceived as the first piece in an evolving system, the chair marks the start of a project that will continue to grow over time.
