Among Jan Kath’s debuts at Salone is Adja, a tribute to the minimalism.
The rugs combine minimalist design with complete craftsmanship. ‘We wanted to create something that is reduced to the essentials and focuses on the exceptional quality of the materials,’ says Sanchir Kath, Jan Kath designer.
Anja follows the principles of Bauhaus: generous dimensions, clear lines and a subtle colour palette.
This restraint allows the Tibetan highland wool, the soul of each rug, to be shown in all its splendour. Delicate colour gradients and irregularities, created by the nature of the hand-spun wool and traditional dyeing methods, are a particular feature of the collection.
