Amid the 1,089 Fuorisalone events spread across Milan, Molteni&C was among the established players using their showrooms to usher in their 2025 collections.
For Molteni&C, the collection is a tribute to the city and a new chapter.
In Vincent Van Duysen, Molteni&C creative director’s vision for the collection, Molteni&C’s designs provide the ideal scenography for a spacious open-plan apartment in an elegant, residential area of Milan – a reflection of the city’s grand past, as well as the modern aesthetics, details and design the company is known for. With a focus on exhibitions and projects designed in the 1970’s and 1980’s, these historical spaces and objects have now been reinterpreted through a 21st-century lens.
The collection also marks the first designs by Christophe Delcourt for the company.
Designed to meet the diverse needs of contemporary living spaces, the aesthetic rigor of the Emile sofa (pictured) is manifested through distinctive graphic signs, which run along the sides, front, and backrest. Defined as a ‘divided but united’ sofa system, Emile offers a range of connectable modules, allowing for the creation of customisable configurations: face-to face, circular, or semicircular seating arrangements, or more linear configurations. They are united by a sense of movement, created by the varying heights of the backrests and the adjustable seat depths. The use of large loose cushions allows for comfort to be tailored to the preferences of each guest.
