Sahrai used its two Via Manzoni showrooms to reveal the jewel in its collection and offer a journey for the senses.
No 45 saw the public debut of its most important rug: a 19th century Heriz, exquisitely hand-knotted in natural silk, which was commissioned by Naser al-Din Shah Qajar, fourth Shah of Qajar Iran which was destined for use as a curtain to be hung at the entrance to his wife’s bedroom.
The rug had never been exhibited in public before MDW25, and took pride of place alongside Sahrai Senses, an immersive and sensorial experience recounting the rug tradition.
Celebrating the beauty of Persian culture and its luminous influence on the Sahrai collections, the sweet scent of roses, the symbolic flower of the Persian tradition, accompanied visitors throughout the showroom. At its centre was a striking Infinity Rug brought to life by video projections. When unrolled, it presents some of the antique rugs, collected by the family through the centuries, flanked by rugs from the Parsa collection.
Events at No 38, were of a more 2025 nature: a new capsule collection dedicated to denim.
